My bio, what can I say that will let you know that I’m not your average MC?
Music is life and life is Music for me. If you were to gave me a million dollars I will still be doing this tomorrow, that is what separates me from most Mc's.
Artist Research (A&R) and rap critics like to label my art as gangsta rap etc...; it has even have been labeled as Christian rap once. I came to the conclusion my style can’t be categorized. I label my self as a Hip-Hop Soul MC, meaning I speak from my soul.
I'm from LA; it's my home; its where I grew up. I seen too many things growing up. Things that no child should ever have to see. My transition in to manhood happen too quick, but I don’t want my bio to be a sad one.
I'm not going use where I’m from or the things I been through to prove to you how hard I am. Instead I channel everything I learned on the street, everything I have been through, and seen with my own eyes to paint a better picture for our seeds to show them another way out.
Most rappers, even the ones who do speak on real issues in their music, still fight to be the best. They define themself by that title; I don’t want to be the best; I just want to be heard.
My idol, the one person I can’t wait to meet, is Magic Johnson. He is someone who actually does something for the community.
My brother, who is facing a life sentence once asked me if I knew what the definition of a YG & a OG. I replied, "Yea, a YG is someone who is a young gangsta who is trying to put in work, and a OG is someone who has put in work and earned his stripes." He laughed and replied no the difference is a OG is disciplined!!!
