Fun song about misspent youth

Artist picture
I got a Roy Rogers guitar with song book for Christmas in 1958. I learned a little and put it aside. In '63 a kid brought his electric guitar to school and played "Pipeline" at our sock hop. It looked easy, so I started a garage band. Eventually, I needed money for gas and dates, so I got a real job. We disbanded in '66, but best friend, Freddie, and I kept jamming over the years. We recently worked on a song he wrote and it inspired me to write my own music. Please listen and post a message.

Story behind the song
The song tells the story only it doesn't mention the spark shower that burned up sleeping bags, tent and cots.
Lyrics
1) I threw a box full of bullets on the campfire Then I sat down to make up a song I just settled into an old tractor tire When I had an idea came along (Chorus) A box full of bullets on the campfire Sure seemed to be a lot of fun As the flames started shootin up higher Well it sure made everybody run 2) Sparks flew as bullets started popping And they buzzed past my ears like a bee I never even thought about stopping Because I just wanted to see........... (Chorus) 3) I didn’t mean to be a party pooper Didn’t mean to rain on the parade But I thought it would really be super And that’s the reason why I laid.......... A box full of bullets on the campfire Was better than toting a gun But if anyone should ever inquire Well I sure had a big old load of fun © 2006 A. P. Peck
