Story behind the song
a track I wrote after watching the news and just seeing death and destruction and violence, and I just felt compelled to write it...
Lyrics
Brothers prayer:
And Shepards we shall be,for Thee, my Lord, for Thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
So that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command,
And we shall flow a river forth to Thee,
And teeming with souls shall it ever be,
In nomini patri, et fili, et spiritus sancti.
verse one:
This street is flooded with the blood of someone's beloved,
Loveless, killings, merciless, bullet hole fillings,
Thrilling to thou doing the killing,
Yet eerily chilling, to those witnessing,
What is happening, I can't understand the concept,
Of taking someone's life over an argue-ment,
It was never meant, to be dealt with like this,
Even a fist is more of a challenge than pushing a bullet,
Through someone's gullet, they can't stop it,
The hands of time grasp tight like a socket,
Guns blasting out rockets, the clock shifts...
Ticks ever so slow to the last second....
To the moment... of reckoning...
prayer two (Il Duce):
And when I vest my flashing sword And my hand takes hold in judgement
I will take vengeance upon mine enemies
And I will repay those who hase me O Lord,
Raise me to Thy right hand And count me amoung Thy saints .
hook one:
This world is so cold, I think I need to make a move,
To a place in space where it isn't necessary to prove,
Anything about you to anyone but who you wish to,
And that's the sad truth...
That you must choose who you wish to shoot,
Will it be them, or will it be you?
Who has the right to choose? is it you? is it you?
Or is it someone who we can never live up to?
prayer three (Il Duce):
Whosoever shed last blood. By man shall his blood be shed.
For immunity of god make he the man.
Destroy all that which is evil. So that which is good may flourish.
And I shall count thee amoung my favoured sheep.
And you shall have the protection of all the angels in heaven.
verse two:
I don't have these answers, and never claimed to,
But who would you choose? Or could you choose?
Would you refuse, and just choose to use your 5th ammendment rights,
Plead the fifth so no blood drips tonight?
Or would you choose to fight, and set things right,
Right in the sense it makes sense to your side of the fight,
I don't think I could muster the might,
To justify takin' a life as something that's right,
That's why tonight I chose to write, to set the facts straight,
Murder is murder in any case, no factor of race,
Dates, times, or a single place could mistake the law that you break,
When you take something you didn't create,
We are God's race, and it's wrong to place yourself in his place,
Replace yours with his face, and play the Hands of Fate,
There's no room for debate, I must confess to thee...
In Nomine Patris, Et Filii, Et Spiritus Sancti.
prayer four (Il Duce):
Never shall innocent blood be shed.
Yet the blood of the wicked shall flow like a river.
The three shall spread their blackened wings and be the vengeaful striking hammer of god.
hook two:
This world is so cold, I think I need to make a move,
To a place in space where it isn't necessary to prove,
Anything about you to anyone but who you wish to,
And that's the sad truth...
That you must choose who you wish to shoot,
Will it be them, or will it be you?
Who has the right to choose? is it you? is it you?
Or is it someone who we can never live up to?
Connor: Now you will receive us!
Murphy: We do not ask for your poor or your hungry
Connor: We do not want your tired and sick.
Murphy: It is your corrupt we claim.
Connor: It is your evil that will be sought by us.
Murphy: With every breath we shall hunt them down
Connor: Each day we will spill their blood 'till it rains down from the skies
Murphy: Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal. These are principals which every man of every faith can embrace.
Connor: These are not polite suggestions. These are codes of behaviour, and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost.
Murphy: Th
