We don't suck... Songwriting and Production, Arlington, TX.
Story behind the song
I wrote this song as a Valentine's Day gift for my wife. In the end, I hope it will become a radio staple every Valentine's Day.
Lyrics
THE MOON
I went to Neiman Marcus, to buy a gift for you
They suggested a box of chocolate, I said, that wouldn't do
I want something special, they asked, what I had in mind
I said, something no one has ever gave as a valentine
-Chorus-
I want the moon
They said they've what I'm wanting, a gift for you
Displaying their finest diamonds, I said, I want the moon
When I asked to pay for it, they said, it wasn't theirs to sale
Now, they think I'm crazy, I thought they were upscale
-Chorus-
I want the moon
I want the moon
-Solo Melody-
-Bridge-
I want to buy the moon for you, but, good moon is hard to find
Neiman-Marcus is no NASA and I'm running out of time
I've searched the outer limits, I've even shopped on-line
-For something no one has ever gave as a valentine-
-Chorus-
I want the moon
I want the moon
(Repeat)
I could buy their chocolates, but, that wouldn't do
I could buy a dozen roses, but, you deserve the moon
I want the moon
I want the moon
(Repeat)
