Lafleur Ylanoire are two young musicians from Heidelberg, Germany: Nora-Marie Borrusch and Flora Bastian. They write and play their songs themselves, sometimes accompanied by other musicians - that's why the name "Lafleur Ylanoire" actually stands not only for the two "basic" members, but for several different "sets" of musicians.

Story behind the song
As often, I had composed the melody before the lyrics, and as often, I did not think about the text and just wrote what came to my head. The rest was easy... :)
Lyrics
Juli / August ’05 Where the moon comes out from the shades of night Silver patterns on the sea Ornamental light on the waves of blue Rolling lightly on the sand. Slowly she strayed on the sparkling beach To an aim she did not know Where the mermaids sang, where the lightning rang Through the graveyards of the sea. When the winter winds turned the world to ice They went fishing on the sea Though the clouds turned black and the thunder roared When the lightning burnt the sea. From the ship he fell and the stormy night Took him down under the sea Never did he come ever up again To the surface of the sea. And every night she prayed God might send him back From the graveyard of the sea But the ship was lost as was every man Who had left the safe, soft sand. But one night he came to her window-pane To kiss her goodbye In his arms she fell when he took her down To his graveyard in the sea.
