The ninth track of Bushido and one of my favorite songs on the album. This is a story-telling track, a little similar to 'Streetlight Poetry' but (thankfully) much shorter. Featuring a sampled chorus by Utada Hikaru, the bilingual J-Pop uberstar.

Name: Jeremy Blum Nicknames: Blummer, JB, JAB, Shoryu Crew: Nerds While AZN Nationality: Half White, Half Asian (you figure out the exact mix) Biggest Musical Influences - Mike Shinoda, Tiger JK (of Drunken Tiger), Tablo (of Epik High) I started rapping in 2003 years ago, mainly because I really loved hip-hop and wanted to try creating my own musical works. I quickly found out that I had a knack for it, and I also discovered that I loved making music and sharing it with the world. I originally began rapping with my crew, Nerds While AZN (if you haven't already, you should check our group site out @ soundclick.com/nerdswhileazn) but since then I've mostly done solo work and have finished three mixtapes on my own. Utada Hikaru) (Blummer) this is the story of a girl named Maria a tragic little song, a sorrowful aria she immigrated here from the Phillipines at fourteen wanted to be a singer, she had a big dream she and her fam moved to a bad neighborhood the streets were run down, they were misunderstood spoke Tagalog and not much English so she said "i'll try my best to learn this" started going to school, she was alone the other kids were black, they left her alone but she learned fast, was academically good knew someday she'd rise up and leave the hood she made friends, even met a boy his name was Rick, he treated her like a toy she was naive, in love with a whim they met for dates by the hotel, she'd tell him: (chorus - Utada Hikaru) meet me in the hotel lobby everybody's looking lonely watch me as i walk in slowly when your eyes meet mine it's in the mirrors of the hotel lobby (Blummer) they were an odd couple, Maria and Rick she was innocent and sweet, he was slick didn't care for grades, he dealt drugs on the side didn't care for her, he was there for the ride but Maria was happier than she'd ever been you'd hear her sing amongst the ghetto's din things were good, but then came a blow Rick got tired of Maria, he decided to blow her off, it was after almost a year he only wanted the sex, he left without a care she was heartbroken, she'd lost her way then all of a sudden her dad passed away it was a heart attack, her world crashed down she dropped out of school to help her mom she tried to stay strong, though she wanted to sob but she lived in the hood, she could only find one job (chorus) x2 (Blummer) nowadays you might catch a glimpse outside the lobby, of girls with pimps one of the girls is Maria, it's a shame but it brings in the money, and she can't complain she needs those dollars, she's now a mother gave birth to Rick's son after he left her it's funny how her life changed so fast hopeful to dejected, happiness didn't last she's cynical now, apathetic and sad the spark she had died along with her dad she supports her mom and kid but mom doesn't know that she sells her body for sex and show ironically, she greets folks by the lobby where she used to meet a boy who sold for a hobby her singing dreams, now lost to the wind innocent girl no longer, she can't pretend (chorus) (Utada Hikaru) meet me in the hotel lobby everybody's looking lonely catch me 'cause i think i'm falling i'll be waiting in the mirrors of the hotel lobby (Blummer) x6 another day out, another day in another strange hotel lobby again
