Story behind the song
This song attempts to tell the story of the good Samaritan. However, it goes beyond the Biblical account to speculate on the rest of his life and the reward he is likely to recieve from the Lord.

THE ROAD OF LIFE
A man was walking, the road one day
Saw another, in the ditch he lay
Robbed and beaten, soiled by the clay
Could not turn his back, and walk away
"Come with me, we'll go to the inn
Have some food and drink, rest and mend
Have no worries, I'll call you my friend
For all your needs, my coins I will spend"
He travelled on, 'til his journey had ended
Along the way, his deeds were commended
Returned to dust now, his soul it is sleeping
But he will rise again, come time for the reaping.
A trumpets blast, will sound in his ears
A voice so gentle will drive out his fears

I have judged your works, forgiven your sin
