"James Hollingsworth plays a darn mean acoustic guitar and knows his way inventively around his pedals. He's an energetic and animated front man and has a fine set of vocal chords. His music was one of the weekends highlights." - Andy Read Winters End Festival James has always impressed us with his thoughtful & lyrical songs. Superb singing & delicate guitar work make for a captivating performance. - Seend Acoustic Fascinating one man band James Hollingsworth conjures some wonderful soundscapes with guitar effects and loops to create colour and build the suspense. - Somerset Guardian if you want to see someone who really knows how to use a 'looper' check this man out... Lyrics
Far away from Home It's good to be back, It's good to be back From forsaking all rights for a tune It's strange how they stacked All those tensions that lacked Any reason, they came from the heart Saved by the urge to listen Unmuffled my ears to retrospect Oh, and hear the sound of the voice You hear the sound of the voice You hear the sound of the voice... Feel the hope returning, Far away from Home See the truth-fires burning To short-cut made too soon Knee-deep in trivia, Sights often passing by Hooked on security clutching a trodden path I said, "I want you, I need you!" I saw you through shut eyes and died Open-line for all the time, but now...I'm home But now...I'm home It's good to re-find, Solitary mind That's more open to cross-legged muse It's clear to me now, There's no 'what-if's, or 'how?'s I'm not expecting, nor am I doubting resolve Saved by this shock to the system That broke bonded clouds, freed clarity Oh, and hear the sound of the voice You hear the sound of the voice You hear the sound of the voice... See the wheels are turning, Far away from Home Visitations yearning, Far away from Home Too soon to settle down, Restless, untied A taste of a paradise, an inverted flow I told you, you told me You can't drink from the cup so fast Until the time when all thoughts rhyme And all that is home, And all that is home And all that is home ©15/03/92 JMWH
