picked a mic up around the time of fifteen
writing lyrics everynight like it was a routine
loved the way the music bumped in my headphones
loved rhyming words,verbs, and the rap music tones
my rap career started off as a stepping stone
bought a 5 dollar mic, thought my music would be known
only wrote so i could clear my helpless mind
left everything behind, let everything unwind...
i was the type of guy to leave everything inside
then i did my first song, everything went wrong
flow was off, voice sounded like a constint cough
couldnt be seen like this so i had to turn it off
this wasnt going good, i misunderstood
why i couldnt make rap music that wasnt hood
turned the volume down, tried to redue the verse
put the mic to my mouth, my next time was worse
i never thought id feel this way (this way)
and as fair as im concerned (concerned)

that i do believe in love
starting putting songs out that had a remedy
rap career was hot, never hadda see a tragedy
put a crew together, went by the kakaznz
met up on the weekends, rapping on occasions
putting songs out until we got caught
track was harsh, school was something that we all forgot
took us out for 3 days, had to learn from our ways
went threw our gangster phase, this isnt how were raised
about the same time i dropped from the group
picked up again as a lone rapping troop
recorded every night, had to make my music right
wanted to make my future rap career nice and bright
had to make my music overcome, be perfect
became solo no more, when i heard from suspect
now here i am, ive finally made it happen
i looked up to god, my only dream was rapping
