Story behind the song
The circumstanses behind this song are just too unsettling for words, lest it be said that the protagonist of the song was known to Jamie. Few songs this pretty are this disturbing too. A live favourite, part of the song I reworked for a production of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' which was performed in Barcelona, Spain.
Lyrics
Candy is dead But she isn't over Candy is dead but she isn't over So just pull down the covers Turn out the light And leave her alone It's much softer to keep her in grace It's much better to remember her face Set in the Violets On a summers day And her eyes reflecting the sky Tracking the clouds As they pass by Comitting to nothing, but this quick life Settling like a feather Frozen in time That's how I'll see her, and that's how she'll stay So don't tell me How Candy died
