Story behind the song

Kobie' was born in Florence, Mississippi. His love for music was discovered at a very early age; his youthful and vibrant voice rang throughout the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church halls. And with a voice like his, it wouldn't go unnoticed.

K.D., as his friends call him, has been singing since age 6. His talents didn't stop there, at the age of 13 K.D. discovered yet another passion "playing the drums". In August 1994, K.D. decided to pursue his musical gifts on a collegiate level and learned various instruments such as Xylophone, Marimba, Timpani (Latin Percussion), Quads, Quince and Snare drums.

K.D. attended Tougaloo College, where he began working with a male acappella group called T.C. Five. The group performed locally and were often compared to groups such as Boy's II Men, Jodeci and Take 6. . . .

As demand for the group grew, so did K.D.'s passion to create and arrange new tunes. They performed their own songs that were written, produced and arranged by K.D. He mastered the skill of teaching vocals through his professional training with Dr. Larry Thomas, director of The Harlem Boy's Choir.  K.D.'s vocal range and vocal style is a mixture of Jazz, Blues and soul stirring R&B.
