Hip Hop/R&B singer Tyler Owens was born in Harlem on August 21, 1983 and his talent as an entertainer was recognized before his third birthday. Young Tyler found his way into the spotlight as a model in the Sears Roebuck Catalog and magazines, including H.I.P., Parents and others. On screen film credits include small roles in The King of New York, New Jack City, Mo Betta Blues and other movies. Church was a large part of the foundation in Tyler's family life, so it was no surprise when he found his voice after joining the church choir at the age of 12. But within a year, Tyler's good fortune began to change dramatically. Although things continued looking up when, at age 13, Tyler enrolled in Yonkers' Museum Junior High School for gifted students, signs of trouble began to surface. He fell in with the "wrong" crowd and began running the streets. When Tyler dropped out of school his mother forced him to leave home and find someplace else to live. At 16, Tyler was independent and supported himself by hustling and working odd jobs. Tyler's struggle to survive and "make ends meet" involved a number of missteps that led to a lot of important life lessons learned. And through it all, Tyler never abandoned his love for singing and performing, which has expanded to include an interest in songwriting as well as production aspects of the music industry. Now ready to share his gift with the world, this is a young talent to watch!!
