A medium-slow, piano-based love song that took me about 25 years to finish. I remembered the music and rewrote the lyrics. Reached # 84 in the Country Pop Charts.

Listen, enjoy the vocal and guitar or piano music of David Derbes.
NOTE: I've added some piano "instrumental only" songs on my music page. They are labeled as Piano in the title. Most are located towards the bottom of the page. Hi everyone! I'm a 49 year old part-time musician/songwriter with several years of various experiences. My ultimate goal is to have some songs published and recorded. All recordings of the songs were recorded with a simple cassette tape recorder. I'll try to keep the "News" section updated as things develop.

Story behind the song
I don't remember why this song came about but the music, melody and title has remained in my memory for a long time. When I rekindled my songwriting efforts, this was the first completed.
Lyrics
Tell Me You Need Me words and music by David Derbes, copyright 2005, daderbes@yahoo.com I know you're there, my eyes only see one thing, that's you. you're all I've ever wanted.. (and) I wonder why I can't seem to get it through to you. There's nothing harder to do. Bridge I can bring flowers every day. Sing something softly at night. Please understand me. Chorus Tell me you need me every day. Don't let me be all alone anymore. Tell me you need me every way. I just want to spend my time with you. Vs. 2 I close my eyes and dream of what life could be, with you It's all I can imagine. (and) It's no surprise this feeling I have inside, is you. There's nothing more that is certain Bridge I can bring flowers every day. Sing something softly at night. Please understand me. Chorus Solo/interlude Bridge and Chorus
