Story behind the song
When I was a young boy my mom (Illyria Fox)ensured that I would grow up in the church and become a good christian man. To begin that life, she had me christened the name Jay David Kent Fox. As a young boy attending church each sunday as mom ensured I'd do, I became a choir boy and sang for many years with a group of eleven boys . Then something bad happened. I got older and fell in love with a girl from the same church. For many years I thought the church was one big family who loved each other. As it turned out there was much hidden hatred in the hearts of some people. I was told than, that I could not love this girl by her parents because I was not of their colour. Thus my heart became a heart of stone. Full of sadness and no longer wanting to be a part of that church family. I never return for many years. I than met another girl who was of another religion. Again I was told I could not love this girl because I was not of their religion. Though I was very badly hurt again, I married the girl in spite of her parents rejection. However things did not work out and we got a divorce. We had two daughters, one was taken away from me and my fisrt daughter was left behind with me. However I did not want the girls to be apart. So I allowed my first daughter to live with her mom only so my daughters could be together to comfort each other. It broke my heart, I was devastated they were my life all that I longed for. I blamed everything that happen to me on God. I never return to church again. Till one day I learned it was not God, but people that turned me away. Because of colour, religion and fame (jealously)all the things that GOD hates.I found that getting to know really Him (GOD)through Bible study and prayer that God is REAL and that he loves me for who I am, and not what people think I should be. I turn back to Him,(Jesus) not the church, although he wants us to fellowship together and serve in the church, but not for reasons of men, but for His purpose. To LOVE one another. For greatest Command is LOVE.
