These are all songs Jon Emerson wrote. Jon sang and played acoustic rythmn guitar on all songs (except Spare Change & Nails for which Bart Howk played all instruments). Bart Howk added electric guitars, piano, bass, drums, and mixed and mastered the album.

Lyrics
You came to my door late last night, made me believe I was right,
Tried to make me think I was wrong, but you know I’m right.
Went back inside and shut the door, didn’t discuss it no more,
I went to bed beneath the moon, but I lay awake.
I was born north, north of here. Mountains were tall and the sea was near.
Never decided to go, but here I am.
Went to a church in the field. Salvation for me there was sealed.
I’d like to go back there someday, but I know it’s gone.
Remember those nights when I couldn’t sleep. I’d stand in their doorway and weep.
My father, he told me of love that came from God.
My mother, she taught me to read, and taught me the things that I would need.
And as I grew up I grew away, but not from her.
I knew that my sister would go. Lives by the Gulf of Mexico.
Wish things could be the way they were, but I know they can’t
Annaliese still is around. Spends most her time outside town.
The friends that she had all have gone, but she’s still here.
My brothers were my finest friends. I know this will be until the end.
The games that we played in the street, I can’t forget.
Youngest came to us July. I knew that she’d grow by and by.
My baby grew up before my eyes, and it makes me cry.
I thought of the things that you said, tossing and turning in bed,
Then I jumped up, full of joy, cause I was right – it was alright.
