Night falls and the lady weeps
Unheard tears the city sleeps
A body just too tired to care
Or wonder whether life is fair
A heart too cold to question why
It gives her no relief to cry
Well you'd cry too if you could see
The thin edge of reality
Her eyes are still and cold as glass
She's waiting for the time to pass
And slowly it will pass
What do you do
When the sun won't shine
There's only clouds
And the past is blind
The wind won't blow
And move them on
And the record is stuck
At the same sad song
All the lovers she has known
Took their share then moved on
Bit by bit she gave away
Her heart to those of yesterday
Who left her with an empty head
And memories to fill her bed
Your heart would break if you could see
What lies behind reality
Her eyes are still as cold as glass
She's hoping that the time will pass
So slowly does it pass
what do you do
when the sun won't shine
there's only clouds
and the past is blind
the wind won't blow
and move them on
and the record is stuck
at the same sad song
