Just another day in the life of a weary traveler
I jam therefore I am
I'm a guitarist, that's what I do.
Story behind the song
Performed by The Weary Travelers. Micheal Redmond on rhythm guitar and vocals and Adrian Andrews on bass. Not much of a story, the song just came out one day. I took it to the guys in the band and they liked it so we did it.
Lyrics
The clouds are hanging low
I'm moving way to slow
Filled with rain
About to drain
As the mighty north winds blow
So I search the hills for shelter
Seeking refuge for my soul
Muddy and tired
Feeling old
Looking for a flame to kill the cold
Breathing on my finger
To cover my stinging ears
With these pocket filled with hopes and fears
Tied together with blood and tears
Thirsty from the dream
I drink my water in vain
Knowing all to well
It does nothing for the pain
Then I lay my head beside the stone
Set six feet above the bones
And offer up a prayer for the seed that I have sown
Wake up in the morning
Shake the cobwebs from my head
Dust off my shoes
Sweep my bed
And thank the Lord I didn't wake up dead...
Thirsty from the dream
I drink my water in vain
Knowing all to well
It does nothing for the pain
Then I lay my head beside the stone
Set six feet above the bones
And offer up a prayer for the seed that I have sown
Wake up in the morning
Shake the cobwebs from my head
Dust off my shoes
Sweep my bed
And thank the Lord I didn't wake up dead...
