Story behind the song
The first (almost) complete song from a solo concept album entitled "on Me..." by z1 produced entirely by Theory Hazit. A long overdue subject for me, a song that I've been working on for a couple years now trying to express in the best way possible how this woman has so bettered my life.
Lyrics
Produced by: Theory Hazit [1st] It never took me that long to imagine that After some time caking my pain over with bad habits I'd be free like Roger Rabbit in certain habitats that I'm used to Special is who you are, making me out to something new Brewing abilities I thought I never knew Schooling me in multiple methods so I could see your views And develop to the transparent man that I have grown to Consistently blown by what you do (you're so beautiful) Every encounter with you is riddled by grace Insurmountable faith, even if problems tie up the place You don't give up the race, you keep it laced counting all joy Spacing it out, reaping the benefactor employed By our Saviour, and if your friends yell He can't save ya Your steps stumble their doubt cuz His hand stays elevated He'll raise ya so the world can see His plan in operation And your dreams become the vessel for bringing back the elation That His people seek in this lifetime, mine came as my wife My angel seeing through my demise, a prayer answered in true disquise So I'd receive the plan that He had for me Rearranging my perspective on tragedy So as I'm thinking my daddy died for no reason and my season is ended I'm trodding in murky waters trying to exist in suspension I put it all on tape that I was in need of redemption And when He opened my eyes I saw you; now, ain't that something... [hook] This one is going out to my wife Who became my Citrus Moon when I just couldn't see right To the one who showed me living when I had given up the fight And possessed THAT that would lead me one day back to the light (This one) 2x [2nd] Yeah, light has a funny way of showing you things you never knew In the dark you simply do it just because you feel you're new to it Screwing with your future with little games Looking back it's easy saying I would definitely have gone about it a different way But as the saying goes, seeing vision in 20/20 is reviewing plenty Of those opportunities easily passed up Recognizing what matters can momentarily have you In cyclical patterns falling off this planet faster and faster That was the case with me, not knowing how detrimentally My actions would set the course for that part of me to divorce Decisions, I made them poor, unassuredly resting morals In a putrid state, stagnant cuz of lack of faith, smelling of composite waste Fighting the flow, God knows I needed more The voids ate me alive until I noticed Him open doors What He showed to me was pure and a beauty for me to adore With a love like this, how could I want anything more? [3rd] still working on it...
