Pop rock with a classic flavor
I made a living playing music all over the US and Canada, for several years. During that time, I had the opportunity to play with The Shirelles, The Coasters, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Lou Christie, The Platters, Danny and the Juniors, The 5th Dimension, and Gary US Bonds. While I was on the road, I also had the opportunity to hang out with Joey Molland (Badfinger), Foghat, Reba, Marvin Gaye, Tom T. Hall, Ray Sawyer (Dr. Hook), Three Dog Night, Jan and Dean, Joey Dee, Al Rappa (Bill Haley's Comets) and Rare Earth, along with hundreds of other nice people (and 7 jerks). I just can't remember all their names right now. Everything you hear (all the vocals and instruments) was played by me, and recorded on a beat up Fostex X-15 four track cassette recorder in a small apartment. They came out pretty well, considering what I had to work with. They're Good Housekeeping approved and everything! Everyone who hears them agrees: Way better than a kick in the pants!

Story behind the song
This is not your typical "pop fare". This song was written in 1990, with the Gulf War as a backdrop.
Lyrics
The ancient fire rises up in the night To a starry sky A new breed of animal looks to the heavens And wonders why He had not the tools or the knowledge To understand what he'd seen His questions had no answers And so he believed He invented solutions to questions that were still out of reach While fifty thousand generations Came and went Like the waves on the beach He offered up proof Of his connections divine And told all his fellows See it my way or die See it my way or die Should one man suffer To lighten another man's load? How many more wars must be fought 'Till we know? How many more lives must be lost "Till the truth is exposed On questions to which there's no answer We may disagree Choose what is right for yourself I choose to believe The fire of the ancient rises up in the night To a starry sky The new human animal looks to the heavens And wonders why His world he could not explain But still he tried Was he really so different From you and I? Now eons have passed us by Since the early man roamed We bounce pictures through space And watch the war On our TV at home Some call it progress I'm not sure I see How peace can ever reign on this earth But still I believe
