Electronic, organic to industrial, dubby at times, traditional at times (blues, funk, rock, middle eastern, jazz even...), generally try to hit the dance nerve
Music must introduce news of an alternative mode as it unfolds around us in us between us and beyond us. Shemduhpenman is an open ended multi-personaed organization of humans and their technologies acting as portals/agents/catalysts through which the news of music's life passes, regardless of genre and commercial considerations. Am I being too serious? Also, we are not real musicians, we don't play particularly well, have not studied formally, but go on nerve, devotion, our ears Feel free to send us your questions...music should also be a conversation and should listen to conversations and learn so....

Story behind the song
I have done a lot of yoga in very ritualistic settings with thousands of people sometimes and the music used in these I think had an influence, particularly the harmonium part which is in the style used in Sikh religious services. The missles flying over head and angsty end section are drawing directly from the feelings I had while living in Seoul, South Korea at the time of the US invasion of Iraq. Kim JOng Il was rumored at that time to be planning to attack South Korea and there was a heavy feeling dread which people were mostly denying, "Koreans wouldn't attack Koreans was the public face everyone was putting on the situation, but inside everyone knew damn well those thousands of missles pointed at Seoul just 30 Kilometers away were there for a reason. All this resonated too with being brought up in the cold war era, we were always on the verge of getting nuked, still are i suppose.
