Hi. We were Subjective Well Being, a three piece rock band from Hot Springs Village, AR. Story behind the song
So like a few other songs that we have here, this was a Summer project song. But all three of us played on it, so it became a Subjective Well Being song by default. I think that if you are familiar with pop music of the eighties and, more specifically the Cure, you can tell where this song comes from. It's an upbeat pop song that I think is easy to get into and dance to. Musically this one is almost entirely Russ. On the Summer Project version Russ played all the instruments save the drums, and when we recorded it for Subjective Well Being I based my guitar part around what he played there, simplifying it a bit so it would be easier for me to sing and play at the same time. Lyrically, this song is about two different things, both tied together. The narrator is talking about a great date he had with a girl, but she never comes back. So it fit with the haunted theme that fit the entire record.
