An original song about playing in a band, trying to find true love, and driving to Poughkeepsie, by Joe Filocamo performed by WAIT AND SEE
We are a classic rock band playing in the NJ, New York City and southern Westchester area. We play rock and roll covers, Stones, Beatles, Springsteen, etc., at
The band played for about three and a half hours!

Story behind the song
This song was actually written several years before it was ever recorded. It came to Joe in a dream. He was to drive to see his girlfriend Carol (who is now his wife), in Poughkeepsie, after a gig. But, in his dream, he kept hearing on the radio, over and over again, that there were "storms over Poughkeepsie." As he slept, he tossed and turned, worrying if he would be able to visit her after the show. When he awoke, he wrote the song.

Lyrics
Well, I'm rockin' and rollin', enjoyin' the show.
Slip out back, here I go, hit the on ramp, watch the sun come up.
I know my baby waits for me, with open arms tenderly.
She's the one I been dreamin' of.
My true love is in Poughkeepsie.
I'm goin' to see her now.
If she's not there, I know what I'll do,
‘Head on back south, find Linda Lou, I guess her lovin' will just have to do.
If she's there, I won't have a care.
She's so sweet, so debonair.
She's all I want and all I need.
Yeah, my true love is in Poughkeepsie,
I'm goin' to see her now.
If she's not there, I know what I'll do.
‘Head on back, find Linda Lou, and I guess that lovin' will just have to do
When she's there, I won't have a care.
So sweet, so debonair,
She's all I want, and all I need.
Yeah, my true love is in Poughkeepsie.
Goin' to see her now.
Well, I'm rockin' and rollin', enjoyin' the show.
This is how my story goes,
I'll lay it out as simple as can be.
I hit the off ramp--there she stood.
She's all that's real--all that's good.
The rest goes in the books as history.
Yeah, my true love is in Poughkeepsie, I'm goin' to see her now.
