Okay, okay, so I'm just one guy. But in the studio, I'm an entire band. I play electric and 6 & 12 string acoustic guitars, mandolin, bass, keyboards, and drums plus do all the vocals and write all the music. I'm self taught and don't read music except for maybe chord charts. Well maybe not entirely self taught-mom got me started since she was a guitarist/mandolinist herself. But she played by ear too so guess that's where I got it. Not that I didn't do my time in various bands. The last, Legacy, was a full time road band until 1983 when I finally got to a space in my life where I told myself there's got to be a better way than just playing covers for a living. And then I found digital recording. Way cool...........

Story behind the song
Song dedicated to my son, Michael, who died in 1987.........
Lyrics
Your name engraved in stone beneath the leaves of a cold barren tree A testament to a life too short And the life you never got to lead I stand here looking down knowing that you're not really here And yet you're always near You've shown me what it means to be In the moment Where yesterday won't bring you down Tomorrow never comes around It makes me wish that I could live In the moment So the memeories of your life would not haunt me You were born into this world struggling against all the odds In spite of all the miracles the plan for you was only known to God Were you here to teach me all the veracity that I should see clear? It must be why you're always near You've shown me what it means to be In the moment Where yesterday won't bring you down Tomorrow never comes around It makes me wish that I could live In the moment So the memeories of your life would not haunt me Your name engraved in stone beneath the leaves of a cold barren tree That old familiar emptiness Spreads like a stain in my selfish need I stand here looking down knowing heaven's a better place But the tears still dampen my face You've shown me what it means to be In the moment Where memories won't bring you down Tomorrow never comes around You've shown me what it means to live You've shown me what it means to give You've shown me what it means to have you In the moment In the moment I'll see you again Someday
