Story behind the song
You know - musically growing up in the late sixties and early seventies, I became aware of electronic music mostly through movie soundtracks and after the fact archive diving. Tangerine Dream became my first true Love. The album “Exit” from 1981 became one of my all time favorite albums and a MUST have on CD when they began to come on the market in 1985 and 1986. Another of my favorite electronic artists that could stir me musically was Jean-Michael Jarre. “Oxygen” was really a very nice album, but to me “Magnetic Fields” was a resounding A+. When it came time to purchase my first CD - Well, hands down there was no competition once I came across Jean-Michael Jarre’s “Zoolook” in the very expensive imports - I was ecstatic. Let's not forget Vangelis... Well, what triggered all this was the re-recording of Tangerine Dream's “Phaedra” and released in 2005. I didn’t know about that. Back to this tune... What if you used guitars and effects to play electronic music? Then played with it using some rhythms, effects, a little retro organ - some pads and strings. It’s a sleepy time chill out kind of tune and not really meant for loud play, but on headphones it’s got a nice glow.
