Somewhat of an uptempo tune about hitting bottom and looking at climbing up.

I've been dabbling in songwriting for about 25 years, ever since I started playing in a band. In the past few years I've gotten a little more serious about it and I enjoy the the idea of creating something from my experiences. Whether personal or from an external source, I like to see my thoughts go from paper to a recorded product. I've been having a lot of fun trying to produce my own music. I'm not into performing my own music so much anymore, but I would like to see it get out there for others to hear.

Story behind the song
Had a bad day not long ago and instead of getting down about everything, I came up with this (not very original) hook. I was going to call the song "Six Feet Under".
Lyrics
I Can Only Get Lower (Larry Lauer) I came face to face with reality, nothing I could see for me Wondering what tomorrow would bring Big time dreams getting further away, doesn’t matter what I say Maybe somehow it’s a blessing The only thing I guess that I can say “I can only get lower if they bury me six feet under Small town bars and a beat up car are my only family I’ve dug myself a deep hole, but I’ve always been a fighter Take a look into my life a little more honestly Well I’m sittin’ in this café, thinking hard about a new way Looking at the bottom of my glass Can’t squeeze blood from a stone, maybe I’ve been away from home to long Getting tired of kicking my own ass Some folks think I might be too far gone Chorus…break… Bridge I’m gonna give my little blue eyed girl a call I’ve got no right to ask her but maybe somehow Chorus twice (first time no music) Copyright2002Larry Lauer
