I've looked around and I have found this world is naught but a patchwork quilt.
On this site we have the 8 songs which make up the Crap Art album, where I wrote and recorded all 8 on March 31, 2004. The rules for the project and other examples can be found at the . However, I tried to make these songs as uncrappy as I could in the course of a day, and I think I succeeded for the most part.

Story behind the song
The first verse is one of my favourite lyrics I've ever written. The rest of the song? Well, it tries to catch up. No protest singer has ever successfully battled the temptation to rhyme "power" with "tower," so I didn't either (especially seeing how the latter made for a nice phallic symbol). My computer ate the multitracks for this, so I didn't fix as many bits of the recording as I would've liked to. But it's the last day of the month and I'm at 5 songs...might as well just turn in the sixth as-is.
Lyrics
wasn't it you that said we started off dead and we'll go back if we don't watch it? we're born from dirt and lust we started off dust but we still think that we are hot shit we used to hunt for food pick berries in the nude until they all began to shrivel we thought we had to hide our animalistic side because we feared being uncivil so we evolved and problem-solved exploited our resources all to the hilt denying urges we emerged and turned this world into a patchwork quilt and so we moved and killed built cities on a hill but we never could perfect them because this world's too large so we put someone in charge and let an even mind direct them we made some rules and laws we had a noble cause until we got drunk off our power and so we started wars with people who ignore the fact we have the biggest towers we'll soon be gone we've got the bomb and someday we'll tear down the roads we have built i've looked around and i have found this world is naught but a patchwork quilt i went to town last fall saw a sticker on the wall that said a strong man needs no leaders and right next to the sign i saw a lady cryin' askin' me if I could feed her although i gave her a dime i still see her every time i stick a fork into my dinner we're all so fat and content in the top 50% while the bottom half gets thinner if we don't change our views i can't watch the news without being totally stricken by guilt but we won't change our ways and so you know, some days i just want to tear up this patchwork quilt
