Story behind the song
This song was written after a rodeo that I had clowned in Coffeyville, KS. My girl friend and I went to a dance and partied after the dance before returning to my camper. We went to sleep but the August sun woke us shortly thereafter. She rolled over and said, "It sure don't take long to spend the night around here." I knew that this was a line for a song and about 10 years later I finally wrote and recorded it.
