Story behind the song
The inspiration for this tune is a little difficult to explain... It is based on an idea I had about a reporter that becomes obsessed with the study of Hell. Loosely based on Dante’s Divine Comedy “Inferno”. The reporter is invited to a guided tour of Hell by an ancient poet of Rome. He is reassured his safety by three Heavenly spirits to help subside his personal fear. The reporter is now on the verge of becoming a modern day prophet of sorts and today that is a explosive situation. The theory is that by displaying the role of Hell - anything better could be Heaven. The reporter’s natural curiosity and desire to share his experience becomes a wave of religious revelation for both himself and his audience. This tune was very difficult to mix and contains many many many layers of sound mixed in a delicate and painstaking process that set me to work on this tune more than any other tune I’ve done to date. I’ve set on this tune for several months, (last creation was August 2005), until I could feel satisfied that I could do no more. The rest is up to your imagination.
