Død Ulv is a newer metal band, formed as Acid in 2002, renamed Cataclysm in 2003, and renamed Død Ulv (Norwegian for Dead Wolf) in 2004. We (Well, I) play thrash, with growled vocals.
There's a lust I can't describe
For far-off worlds and distant stars
And carnal knowledge in this life
Is all that can compare
To the great Knowledge Divine
Blistered nebulas consumed
In otherworldly vortex
A night-time's lasting gift on the lips of man
Rising deep inside my heart
Like a solar flare raking o'er celestial bodies
The lunar minefield is aglow with silent sorrow
And the agony in the core of Mercury runs long
Crystalled ice flies through the vaccuum
On through the yawning void that houses Muspell's sparks
The shining flames burning across billions of miles
Enigmatic spirals form a galaxy of fire
Twisted throughout the cosmos, yet one of billions
Vaporized atoms firing out beyond the starfields
Constellations align to light the singular path
To the astral graveyard
As the hydrogenic mass furthers its own selfdestruction
The light provided gives way to the darkness of the void
Washed in radiation
And bathed in parched absence of matter
Beyond the outer walls of our own universe
The macrocosm expands to untold realms
Yet in and of itself, can know both none and any end
And still the lust I feel is there
To know if there's more than this
To know the distant reaches of galaxies
And the cosmic span of time
But all these desires come and go
Neverending through existance
As the fire of my soul returns to satisfy
All the yearnings of infinite beyond
Could never compare to her in the span
Of a hundred billion years
To think, all the hopes and dreams of man
Of his exploratory nature
Can be wholly fulfilled on this small world
When found is the secret of life
