Story behind the song
A song from the upcoming Banal Entertainment Group feature film, "Style-O-Man." What critics are saying about "The Wheedle and the Damage Done." So far, nothing but RAVE reviews!!! One reviewer for the Washington Post wrote... "Not since Franz Kafka wrote about being turned into a beetle in his classic 'The Metamorphosis' has literary allegory been so forceful as in the Ipecac and Icepac masterpiece song 'The Wheedle and the Damage Done.' For some obscure, unexplainable, metaphysical reason, someone's brother has been turned into a car. (A 1971 Volvo, it turns out.) You can listen to this wonderful song over and over and over, and discover some new nuance in it every time. Bravo, maestros Ipecac and Icepac! This is the greatest work of music to be produced in America in the last 100 years."
Lyrics
I tried to give you superpowers, more. I changed my brother to a car -- two door. Ooh, ooh, the damage done. I played the city, lost my music band. Then saw the wheedle change you from a man, Into a car -- the damage done. I sing this song because I miss the man, (Proton!) I know that some of you don't understand. At least he gets 20 miles to the gallon. I've seen the wheedle and the damage done. On Vole-Vole's front-seat, I rest my buns. But every junk car's like a settin' sun.
