Producer, musician, and DJ.
Mark Pynn adopted the artist name 'Pynner' at the age of seventeen when he began selling cassettes of his music to his peers at school. The tapes contained a psychedelic mixture of drums and a toy keyboard played through borrowed guitar pedals, all recorded on an analogue four-track Portastudio. As a teen Mark studied drums and guitar, then at the age of twenty he earned a diploma for Audio Engineering. Using sample-based software, online he shared several Pynner remixes of classic songs, the most popular being of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s 'Woodstock'. Pynner has also enjoyed a DJ career spinning house and techno music at small parties with DJ partner Chevy. While it was his dream to produce a concept album from the start, it wouldn’t be until the age of thirty that his debut album '2081' would start to come into realization. While drumming for Kill Matilda in Montreal, Mark purchased Pro Tools, and this final addition to his studio allowed him to finally create the sounds he would need to make '2081'. The first song produced with his new studio would end up being the eleventh track on the album, 'The Prophecy'. Over the course of eight years, pieces of '2081' were recorded in Quebec, Ontario, and BC, respectively. In order to produce the theatrical skits on the album, Mark borrowed help from his friends and family members as performing voice actors. '2081' was finally released in February of 2019. Currently Mark lives on Vancouver Island where he studies psychology and linguistics at The University Of Victoria and works on a fruit farm.
