SKySWiM is the core project name for all musical work by Arnie Stanton. Arnie Stanton has been very involved in creating an eclectic musical blend of classical, electronic, rock, jazz, and other styles. Because of his wide musical background from training and listening, he tends to not stay long with one particular sound, mood, or feel. Arnie creates music meant to evoke deep emotions and strong visual imagery. His lyrics have spiritual overtones, sometimes comforting, but more often, challenging and ominous. He plays trombone, keyboards, sings, and usually talks in the first person, rather than third person tense, as he is doing here. :-) His base of operations is in Torrance, California. Story behind the song
This song is a humorous attempt to write a love song from the point of view of a math/science nerd. Though I think it is a subtle thing, there is a hyper, uptightness running through the piece. Also, all but 2 lines in the song use math/science terminology in metaphor. If you choose to play this at your wedding, you are most likely an engineer.
Lyrics
This is it! I was so convoluted Things got so divergent nothing seemed to add up always had one unknown too many Well, life wasn't mean just average She's a well-behaved equation got me back in phase And I can see the difference no further substitution She's the integral part of my life All the other girls: so full of random numbers Living unexpanded terms no factors in their eyes Moving mainly tangent as a scream They were just monstrous permutations Now, all of my moments have a center of rest Our lines run so parallel 'Cause she's my never-ending decimal One, two, three, hop
