This a raw retro (improvised and non-computer sequenced) full-on analog synth piece that is in many ways just as cutting edge sound-wise as what is just coming on the music scene.

SKySWiM is the core project name for all musical work by Arnie Stanton. Arnie Stanton has been very involved in creating an eclectic musical blend of classical, electronic, rock, jazz, and other styles. Because of his wide musical background from training and listening, he tends to not stay long with one particular sound, mood, or feel. Arnie creates music meant to evoke deep emotions and strong visual imagery. His lyrics have spiritual overtones, sometimes comforting, but more often, challenging and ominous. He plays trombone, keyboards, sings, and usually talks in the first person, rather than third person tense, as he is doing here. :-) His base of operations is in Torrance, California. The official SKySWiM web page is .

Story behind the song
Prophet 600 Speaks is one of my oldest pieces using synthesizers. All the sounds, including the synthetic "white noise" drum set were all produced by my old Prophet 600 synthesizer. The rawness of this non-sequenced piece seemed to me a nice contrast to some of the other high precision songs I have recorded. The recording also is possibly a good example of what is missing in creativity from most of the more "modern" music today that is produced on synths that cannot do a lot of real time morphing effects. A little of this morphing is coming back, but usually only with the use of a simple low pass filter sweep.
