Story behind the song
This song was actually going to be done over another beat ... I already had the first verse down, I just had to write another verse. The inspiration for this song was my song "Desire" but the beat made this a song all it's own.
Lyrics
Fire That Burns By: Da Famous 1ne It’s at times like this, I reminisce Think back to the old days when I started to pay My dues, never refused, all I did was use my tools Up inside of the brain, I still try to maintain, my Focus in the game, staying on the grind, penning Words to the pad, making concepts half of the time Most of my rhymes they still dealing with my life, My love, my pain, and my strife, my high points and My lows, shades of grays, and yes I still wish for more Beautiful days, but yet, I know life doesn’t cater to Those wishes so I, keep on going, hope that one day They come to fruition, my mission is never finished, Spirit’s never diminished, still fighting to lead the Pack to victory, I’m making the choice now, to let My voice be heard, loud for all the people to hear, Loud and clear, making a statement that’s what I’m Here for, to let my presence be felt, and not be Ignored, to let my spirit soar like a bird all over The world, and be the breathing conscience of Hip-Hop, with a fire that burns It was desire, that led me to the world of Hip-Hip, But it was hunger, that kept me going still I won’t Stop, I’ve made the choice as of this moment to Keep It Real like Milkbone when I speak, keeping It Fresh like this beat, now that reflection is over, it’s Back to reality for me, as write in this pad, thinking of Words to speak, penning my thoughts and my dreams, My emotions and, trials and tribulations that every day That I’m facing, hungry like a beast, jacking for beats With snares and high hats that kill for weeks, digging In the crates like Full Effect, I give respect to those who Still got the need to go and damage a mic, whether a novice Or a vet, just keep reppin your set, you never know when You gon blow onto the scene and live your dream, I’m Still grinding like the rest of ya’ll, don’t forget, it’s been 7 years and still running, haters keep coming Let the beat drop for a second X, let me speak my mind, Let the people hear my voice so I can get it all in, The world we living in is crazy, and all the shit we see Never seems to amaze me, sometimes it does phase me, But back to the matter at hand, I’m here to put back the fire In this Hip-Hop land, to get invigorated once again, to Spread the message of this music that I’m spittin in, to make My mark on this game that’s come commercialized, a Transformation that I know is heavily despised, by true Hip-Hop heads I know realize, we need the Golden Age back pronto, when lyrics mattered, not the head Honchos, with no triangles like Doritos nachos, this Ain’t a guideline for you to follow, but if you want it to be, Let it be, I hope you learn, my respect you earned, it’s Da Famous 1ne, with a fire that burns
