Lyrics
i was watching you dreaming from outside your window, hanging from the highest branch while my legs were swaying with the wind in the monnlight, still holding my camera, hoping that you'd spare a smile to add to my collection. and i saw you walking from my dorm room window. the sun was shining on your face because it knows you're hard to follow. i put my pen to my paper to scribble you a sonnet but i couldn't find the words. i'd used them all up on your novel. i found myself behind you outside of the movies, and i put my arms around you while i whispered in your ear. you put your fingers in my hair and your nails into my forearms, opening the scars where you found your name was carved. and then you looked into my eyes, lost in their movement, and then i saw myself how you see me right before you started cryin. we went back to my room where i wrapped you up in blankets, and i locked us in the closet to keep our love from escaping. i nailed our sneakers to the floorboards, so it was easy to stay grounded. don't worry about your keys, i left them on the highway because my heart's already open. you won't need them to unlock it, and they probably would've stabbed your leg from inside of my pockets. let me lay with you under a bed of white roses, cradled by the undergrowth that pushes your cheeks into mine. i don't want to miss your touch, so wrap your hands around my throat and, baby, take my breath away.
