Story behind the song
So, it's been a while, huh? Maybe it's because Greasy Valentine and the Blasters is not a band anymore. Maybe we never were a band, just a theory. I am deployed right now to a chain of islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean. I recorded all the parts to this myself in the chapel here, usually between midnight and 4 am. One night when i was going in to do some work on it, there were candles lit up, but through the window I saw no one (blurry due to fog/candles). It was Christmas eve so I figured they were just set up for the next day or something. Just in case, I went in a different door, and in the lobby, it sounded quiet, so I went on in. While bust through the door, I opened my Dr Pepper and realized that they just got done praying and every one of them looked at me like I was the biggest a-hole ever! So I ran like a little girl from the chapel to my tent.
