Story behind the song
This song, once titled 'By the Bones of James Dean,' was inspired by the notion that James Dean's race car was haunted, as it was the cause of his death as well as the deaths of several subsequent owners.
I still think it's a cool concept, though it wasn't my idea to make it into a song. Our old singer came up with the idea, name, and appropriate lyrical content, so with the disbanding of Istari as a live act, the song's name has reverted back to it's original working-title.
We had talked about cutting this into two separate songs, or rearranging it into something less frenetic, but that never happened. Instead it will continue to exist as material for the New Band, as it suits that vibe much more than it ever did Istari.
