Story behind the song
A special person in my life inspired a poem, which I wrote in song format. The lyrics speak of how unique and beautiful the object of one's affection is. The song was written at my home, in Houston, Tx. The songwriting took 2 days, and post production took 1 week. We recorded the passages separately, verses first, then the chorus, which we did in order to create a specific sound enviroment, which was critical to the nature of the song.
Lyrics
Strangely Beautiful Every line on the page of your face I've memorized each and every place That you've taken me In my mind with your love Colors and feelings I've never known to exist Rainbows and waterfalls You give me this Timeless time with your love Strangely beautiful, you are Strangely beautiful, you are My oasis in the desert From you I drink My oracle in times of need God speed you to me I hear your name in the rain As it falls to the Earth Every drop serves to remind How blessed I am The recipient of your love Strangely beautiful, you are Strangely beautiful, you are For you and no one else Because of you I found myself Meant to be, can't you see I'm for you (Spoken) Let me drink your life-giving water Course through me Cascading over my hills and plains Cut through my valley On it's way to the ocean That is my heart Vast, open, and yours
