Story behind the song
I met a hip girl at a party after a Sound of Would gig, and our conversation that night inspired me to write this song. Thanks, Cassie.
Lyrics
I met a girl who was going to California, but she took a wrong turn and wound up in Fredonia She's got an acoustic bronco waiting for her at home she had a fat brown hat and a little button nose And I can Tell You Ride in a big red van just by looking at the seat of her pants, but even more than her seat, I like to look at her feet when she's doing a cute little dance All the people around me made me feel kind of small, so I went to the little room at the end of the hall There she was in the corner just twirling her hair, man, I knew there was a reason I liked rooms to be square We didn't talk about much, just playing and such, and there's nowhere else that I'd rather be I hope when we meet again, we'll have paper and a pen and twelve strings between her and me
