After visiting The Republic of Benin, West Africa in 2004...the history of the Tofinu people escaping their pursurers by escaping to the Rivers of Ganvie for safety. An edict had gone forth that the pursurers were forbidden to go into the water. Hence the Tofino people were saved by the Waters of Ganvie....which today is a thriving village inclusively situated in the
village of Ganvie.
Lyrics
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your waters
I’ll never go away
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your waters
I’ll never go away
Take me down
To the river
Where my soul can be set free
Think I’ll stay
In the water
Cause I’ve found
My liberty
Music
Running for safety
Nowhere to go
Down by the river
Chilly and cold
Cleanse me my body
Save me my soul
Hide me from trouble
I’m finally home
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your waters
I’ll never go away
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your water
I’ll never go away
Take me down
To the river
Where my soul can be set free
Think I’ll stay
In the water
Cause I’ve found
My liberty
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your waters
I’ll never go away
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your waters
I’ll never go away
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your waters
I’ll never go away
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your waters
I’ll never go away
Blessed Ganvie
My home is here to stay
My soul is in your waters
I’ll never go away
