Story behind the song
Larry Bisbee wrote the lyrics for this song while working on the docks in Yuma, Arizona.. The produce docks.. Yuma ships some 280,000 plus cases of lettuce a day from these docks during the winter months.
Larry use to watch the girls in the office doing the dispatching of all the truckers to and from the docks, and felt there might be a song in all that.
Thus, "Dispatch Doll" was born, but to really bring it to life, it took the collaboration on writing and the music of Jim littlefield and Margaret Arsenault, AKA, "Nickels and Dimes, a Maine and New England award-winning duo.
