Story behind the song
We sat in Fanny Mae Dees Park. It was a brisk October afternoon. The original guitar riff for this song was written nearly a year ago upon Miles Mayhem's relocation to Cashville.
Lyrics
Verse 1 Naked and blind in the Winter Warm in your Medusa Tattoo I saw you, queen of the blue-ribbon women Sculpting my best days with your eyes Chorus Shouldn’t have left my heart in your hands Shouldn’t let you linger in my head As if you were the defense of life and love And love just isn’t all that alive anymore Verse 2 Well it’s today that I stand up On this chair of letters begging you To forgive me before you tumble down The hardness of your perfect skin Chorus Shouldn’t have left my heart in your hands Shouldn’t let you linger in my head As if you were the defense of life and love And love just isn’t all that alive anymore Bridge Fall past my eloquent new poems Of crushes and lost weight of the world Verse 3 So I say goodnight dear dream And slip into my eyes no more It’s Spring here now in my head The leaves are softer than the life I wanted you to have Chorus Shouldn’t have left my heart in your hands Shouldn’t let you linger in my head As if you were the defense of life and love And love just isn’t all that alive anymore
