Everyone seems to think this is my upbeat positive song, when it is really about my insistance on running headlong into brickwalls

When I was a kid , I had a superstition

That I could wake up, in my favorite comic book
It never happened , but maybe it still could

When I turned 13 , sold my comic book collection
to buy a guitar, I was on a holy mission
In 1991, I up and moved to Hollywood
Nothing ever happened , but maybe it still could
… cause Anything Possible is what you do if you’re afraid

well when I grew up I was at least half as driven
took the show on the road but I couldn’t make a living
thought I found a girl , but it didn’t go so good
nothing ever happened , and who knows if it could
