Story behind the song
The first time we recorded this song with a cd burner from the PA, we gave it to Steve Pringle, who after getting much feedback, told us we should go im the studio to get a more professional sounding recording so he could give it the recognition that it deserved. To pay the price for studio time wasn't feasable, soooo- Jamie interjects; "We continued to let it age on the stage, and when it was time to hit the studio, we recorded ten songs, (one of which we lost due to Jack Daniels), we ended up with the nine that you hear on 'Deep Wood'. This cut was the song that Steve Pringle first gave us air play with. It's blistering soul was the first hint to the Portland crowd that something a little different had arrived in their blues clubs...Thanks, Steve and KMHD 89.1 FM...(4-6PMT, Friday Freeway Blues Jam.)"
