Story behind the song
this song was made up literally the day after my 20th birthday… i’m 20 now and even though that may not seem old for some people it seems really old to me… I had also just graduated about 6 months before and I was wrestling with the idea of what I was expected to do and what I wanted to do… and after I had a talk with a friend I realized that I wasn’t going to be able to be that person that they want me to be… it’d be easier for me to just go along with what’s expected of me sometimes but if I did that I wouldn’t be true to myself… and I wouldn’t be happy with myself… so that’s what it’s about…

yesterday was my 20th birthday, it started to set in, I’m out of school I’m going forward and I don’t like it, now I’m supposed to grow up, but I just won’t fit in I can’t do it, I just won’t grow up, I won’t do it, I won’t grow up today, I’ll always be 19 old men in their same old boring routines, work , eat and sleep is all they do, that’s not a life that’s not a way for me and I won’t do it that’s not a routine I’ll fit in. chorus
