Story behind the song
I lost my dearest friend on July 19, 2003 to lukemia. To help cope with the loss I spent the next three days in my studio and this song is what emerged.
Lyrics
The Whisper Inspired from a poem by Nancy Rose Bouchard God looked down and saw that she was tired and a cure was not to be So he reached out put his loving arms around her and whispered Rebecca come with me With tearful eyes we watched you suffer And saw you fade away Although we couldn't bear to loose you We could not make you stay God looked down and saw that she was tired and a cure was not to be So he reached out put his loving arms around her and whispered Rebecca come with me A golden heart stopped beating Hard working hands now laid to rest He broke our hearts just to prove to us God only takes the best God looked down and saw that she was tired and a cure was not to be So he reached out put his loving arms around her and whispered Rebecca come with me The tears today now shed in sorrow Someday will be replaced With the memories of your laughter And the sweet smile upon your face
