MAKE HER MINE
VERSE
She’s been like a luminous angel for forever.
Though I’m patient for the heavens to align
I’m afraid my chance to hold her may be never.
So I need a plan if I’m to make her mine.

I’ll extract the drawing board and drafting table,
Note my calculations with a point so fine,
Graph out what could lie ahead if I am able
To convince her she should let me make her mine.

How her love would make me feel so strong!
My convictions wouldn’t seem so wrong.

But how can I sway her to my side
When so many other men have tried?

She has turned away all offers I have heard of,
Looking Garboesque at each and every time.
So I hope she’s merely waiting for her true love
Who’s identical to me to make her mine.
