Just a Lyric writer
Hi I'm Noel and I write poetry, ballads, and lyrics. The songs here are collaborations I've taken part in. I mostly either only write the lyric or collaborate on the lyric but occasionally I will do a melody too. If you are interested in using any of the songs here, please feel free to contact me. I am also looking for songwriters who are interested in my kind of lyrics to collaborate with.

Lyrics
Lone Rider Lyric by Noel Downs, Music by Bill Assumpcao Copyright. Sitting here in my easy chair, Nothing much else I can do. Till a roar echoes off the mountains, And a lone rider comes into view. Haunted eyes look through me, The rider steps to the ground. A tank of fuel and a buffalo chew, And he rides back out of town. Chorus Now he’s a lo - ne rider, A shadow on the old back roads, Lo - ne rider, Where’s he going, nobody knows. The boy had a job and a family, Then he found himself in a war. Somewhere in South East Asia, He still gets nightmares of what he saw. Sent home to where it was “normal”! He never knew there’d be such dreams. His wife was crying as she left him, But she couldn’t take his screams. Chorus Now he’s a lo - ne rider, A shadow on the old back roads, Lo - ne rider, Where’s he going, nobody knows. Often the object of gossip and envy, Most folks (everyone) believes he is free. But he’s riding away all his night times, Trapped by his fear of sleep. Yet I know he is out there searching, For something that he just can’t see. I pray for the day he don’t come back this way, When he’s finally found himself peace. Chorus Cause he’s a lo - ne rider, A shadow on the old back roads, Lo - ne rider, Where’s he going, nobody knows.
