VERSE 1 I was riding one day in my automobile When the timing belt broke at the top of a hill So the motor wouldn’t run, but I coasted until I rolled into Joe’s front yard. I said. “I can’t fix it; I know darn well. I don’t know a clutch from a rocket fuel cell. If you fix it for me Joe I’ll pay you swell. Wha-zit-need? Do they make such a thing? (REFRAIN) VERSE 2 I was pouring a sidewalk in my backyard, Just waiting for the concrete to set up hard, When some dogs came a running, making paw-prints where I poured— So I set off to shop at Menards.
