The Greatest From Frederick
Born in Olney, Maryland and raised in Frederick, Maryland. Victory has emerged into a monster behind the mic. At age 20, he is now ready to leave his mark on the rap game. Chris Shewbridge a.k.a. Victory has been writing lyrics/poems ever since he was 7 years old, and as he got older he became more and more serious with the rap game. After dropping out of school at age 16, thats when he pushed hiself beyond his limits and dedicated himself completely to the game. Writing songs all day, recording in the studio all night, his music and talent became his life. Sometimes he spends long days on the streets handing out CD's, promoting his music all on his own just trying to get heard by the right person. Victory landed himself in the Frederick County Detention Center after his mother called the cops and had him arrested for having a pound of marijuana in the house. He spent a short stay at the county jail and was released on two years of probation, which ends in September 2008. After his release from jail, he came back and hit the streets hard with multiple mixtapes. There is much more to come from Victory in the future with or without a major deal so be on the look out!!

Story behind the song
Ever since I was 7 years old, rappin is all I've wanted to do. I've dedicated alot of hard work to my music over the past 11 years and after I finished writing and recording this song something snapped in my mind that I've never done a solo album, I've always rapped in groups. So, I told myself... "It's time, I need to do an album on my own". This song is just tellin the story of my life ever since I started rappin, and yes, Its been a LONG time comin!
Lyrics
(It's been a long time comin)... [Verse 1] Uh, I Grew up a lovable kid but I never could explain all the troubles I did and all the struggles ahead had me prepared for the worst till the point I stared at dirt and got prepared for the hearse But, I guess that'd be defeatin the purpose of learnin to live if life didnt hurt much Sure enough, people change with time I used to wanna go to school but I changed my mind Things was fine with my moms, then my dad started flippin out "Son your kicked out!", "pops what you trippin bout?" I had to stick it out and hold my own and roll out my home cuz I was told I'm grown On the phone there aint no conversations So he aint wanna talk to me, that was my observations My occupation with rappin is happenin I'm strapped in, headin up from the back end [Chorus] Dear God, I aint so religious but I owe it to you, I'm on the road to the riches and... (It's been a long time comin) It's been a long time, been a long time and Dear God, I dont know if you hear me but I'ma be a legend and I hope that they feel me cuz... (It's been a long time comin) It's been a long time, been a long time [Verse 2] Dear God, I dont know if you listenin but I'm wishin fame, thats what my mission is (yea) It was all jump from the get go that I could get doe so I can make it out this shit hole (yup!) Hell no, I dont trust a soul cuz I did before and seen how them busters roll Fuck em though, Yung J is one of the few thats always had my back and Vicious is one of em too What can you do when life just cant get worse then it can only get better, take a chance, it hurts A chance is worth it, so I gave it a try "please Lord help me out" is what I pray to the sky Everyday passin by cuz I stay gettin high I see my father and I dont know what to say to the guy But uh, its been a long time comin and if you disbelieve in the kid, you in your wrong mind cousin [Chorus]
